Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 Section 166 Motor accident - Rs.6,61,000/- together with interest at 8% pa awarded by Claims Tribunal - Appeal for enhancement of compensation - Claimant aged 30 years and sustained 45% disability due to accident - No proof of income produced - Notional income of claimant taken as Rs.6,500/- pm - Multiplier of 17 applied - Rs.5,96,700/- awarded towards loss of future earning - Rs.75,000/- awarded towards pain and suffering and Rs.45,000/- towards medical expenses - Rs.30,000/- awarded towards attendant, nourishment and conveyance charges - Rs.1,00,000/- awarded towards loss of amenities and comfort - Rs.19,500/- awarded towards loss of income during laid up period - Total compensation of Rs.8,66,200/- awarded - Rate of interest reduced to 6% pa - Claimant held entitled for enhanced compensation of Rs.2,05,200/-
