Department of Legal Affairs Starts Internship Program for Law Students.

Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India has come up with an internship program for law students at offices located in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai.

Union Law Minister Mr Kiren Rijiju tweeted about the same and called the step a great opportunity for law students and encouraged young talent to apply for the same.

For more information regarding the application form and instructions regarding the internship, students can log on to www.legalaffairs.gov.in/internship.

Students pursuing the three-year law degree and are in the 2nd and 3rd year can apply for the internship and for the 5-year course, students from 3rd to 5th year can apply.

The internship will tentatively begin in June 2022 and the duration will be of one month unless specified. 

It should be noted that only 10-30 students will be taken in every month and they might also get an honorarium of Rs 5000 upon completion.

The aim of the internship is to show students how the Department of Legal Affairs functions and to also train them in researching and in various fields of law like finance law, constitutional law, labour law etc.
